Cavity wall insulation removal for Neath properties
Neath is among the towns we cover in West Glamorgan, alongside Briton Ferry, Swansea and Gorseinon. It is around 7 miles north-east of Swansea.
Where a Neath wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up. Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for Neath properties, so you can choose who fixes them.
Local weather affects which walls can be filled. Parts of West Glamorgan face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
On the rules side, if cavity wall insulation follows in Neath, filling a cavity is notifiable work under the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales, usually self-certified through a competent person scheme.

If you have a guarantee
Contact your original installer first. If that does not resolve it within two months, CIGA's process applies for CIGA-guaranteed installs. Removing insulation yourself can void a guarantee, so speak to the provider before work.
