Cavity wall insulation removal for Taunton properties
Taunton is among the towns we cover in Somerset, alongside Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea and Yeovil. Taunton is one of the main towns we cover in Somerset.
Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for Taunton properties, so you can choose who fixes them. If your Taunton installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work.
Before any material is chosen, exposure is checked. Somerset has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
On compliance, if cavity wall insulation follows in Taunton, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

How extraction works
Bricks are carefully removed in a line near the base and at intervals higher up where needed. The fill is broken up and drawn out with an extraction vacuum, the cavity is cleared and checked with a camera, and the bricks are rebuilt in matching mortar. Extracted material is bagged and disposed of properly.
What is included in Taunton
- Brick removal and reinstatement
- Camera check before rebuild
- Full extraction and cavity clean
- Damp investigation and borescope diagnosis first
