Cavity wall insulation removal for Hexham properties
Hexham sits in Northumberland, about 25 miles south-west of Blyth. We work across the NE46 district, including nearby Morpeth and Cramlington.
If your Hexham installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work. Where a Hexham wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Northumberland has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
As for paperwork, if cavity wall insulation follows in Hexham, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Should I remove my cavity wall insulation?
Not always. Welsh Government guidance makes the point that extraction is not always the right remedy. Damp can come from blocked gutters, failed pointing, bridged damp-proof courses or condensation, none of which removal fixes. We start with a damp investigation and borescope checks, then recommend removal only where the fill itself is the problem.
