Cavity wall insulation removal across Lancashire
We cover 18 towns in Lancashire, including Preston, Burnley, Blackburn, Blackpool, Morecambe and more.
Before any material is chosen, exposure is checked. Parts of Lancashire face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
If your Lancashire installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work. Where a Lancashire wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up.
Building Regulations in England
Filling an existing cavity wall is notifiable building work in England. Either a building notice goes to building control before the work, or the installer self-certifies it through a government-approved competent person scheme such as CIGA's CWISC scheme. The insulation used must also be suitable for the wall it goes into, which is why the survey checks construction, condition and exposure first.

If you have a guarantee
Contact your original installer first. If that does not resolve it within two months, CIGA's process applies for CIGA-guaranteed installs. Removing insulation yourself can void a guarantee, so speak to the provider before work.
