Cavity wall insulation removal across East Sussex
We cover 9 towns in East Sussex, including Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings, Hove, Bexhill-on-Sea and more.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. East Sussex has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for East Sussex properties, so you can choose who fixes them. Damp in an insulated East Sussex home is not always the insulation's fault, so the diagnosis comes before any extraction.
Building Regulations in England
Filling an existing cavity wall is notifiable building work in England. Either a building notice goes to building control before the work, or the installer self-certifies it through a government-approved competent person scheme such as CIGA's CWISC scheme. The insulation used must also be suitable for the wall it goes into, which is why the survey checks construction, condition and exposure first.

Should I remove my cavity wall insulation?
Not always. Welsh Government guidance makes the point that extraction is not always the right remedy. Damp can come from blocked gutters, failed pointing, bridged damp-proof courses or condensation, none of which removal fixes. We start with a damp investigation and borescope checks, then recommend removal only where the fill itself is the problem.
What is included
- Damp investigation and borescope diagnosis first
- Brick removal and reinstatement
- Full extraction and cavity clean
- Camera check before rebuild
- Waste disposal
- Option to refill with a suitable system
