Cavity wall insulation removal for Newton Aycliffe properties
We cover Newton Aycliffe and the DL5 postcode district, including nearby Bishop Auckland, Darlington and Stockton-on-Tees. It is about 11 miles south of Durham.
If your Newton Aycliffe installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work. Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for Newton Aycliffe properties, so you can choose who fixes them.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. County Durham has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
In terms of approvals, if cavity wall insulation follows in Newton Aycliffe, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

If you have a guarantee
Contact your original installer first. If that does not resolve it within two months, CIGA's process applies for CIGA-guaranteed installs. Removing insulation yourself can void a guarantee, so speak to the provider before work.
