Cavity wall insulation removal for Amersham properties
Amersham is among the towns we cover in Buckinghamshire, alongside Chesham, Chalfont Saint Peter and Gerrards Cross. It is roughly 27 miles south of Milton Keynes.
Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for Amersham properties, so you can choose who fixes them. Where an Amersham wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up.
Wind-driven rain is the first thing the surveyor weighs up. Much of Buckinghamshire sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
On compliance, if cavity wall insulation follows in Amersham, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Rules in England
Filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification if insulation work follows.

If you have a guarantee
Contact your original installer first. If that does not resolve it within two months, CIGA's process applies for CIGA-guaranteed installs. Removing insulation yourself can void a guarantee, so speak to the provider before work.
