Cavity insulation top-up in Surrey

A cavity top-up fills voids left by an older installation: missed panels around windows, settled fibre, areas disturbed by an extension or new window. Our Surrey coverage includes Guildford, Guildford, Esher and the towns around them.

Cavity insulation top-up across Surrey

We cover 18 towns in Surrey, including Woking, Guildford, Esher, Redhill, Staines and more.

Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Much of Surrey sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.

Surrey properties with rendered or painted walls get a closer look at the outer finish, because cracked render can let rain behind it. If a wall in Surrey is not suitable, for example because of an undiagnosed damp patch or a very exposed gable, you are told so in writing with the reason.

Building Regulations in England

Filling an existing cavity wall is notifiable building work in England. Either a building notice goes to building control before the work, or the installer self-certifies it through a government-approved competent person scheme such as CIGA's CWISC scheme. The insulation used must also be suitable for the wall it goes into, which is why the survey checks construction, condition and exposure first.

Funding in England

  • ECO4, the energy-supplier scheme, has been extended to 31 December 2026 and government has said there will be no successor supplier obligation.
  • The Great British Insulation Scheme closed as planned on 31 March 2026.
  • Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households in England through councils, and the January 2026 Warm Homes Plan sets out fully funded upgrades for low-income homes, with more detail still being published.

How do I know if my walls need a top-up?

Cold patches on internal walls, a thermal image showing uneven heat loss, or an EPC that says 'filled cavity' when parts of the house feel colder are all signs. Extensions are a common cause: the new wall is insulated as built, but the old wall it joins may have been left partly empty.

Cavity insulation top-up in Surrey: questions

Do you cover all of Surrey?

Yes. We cover 18 towns across Surrey, including Woking, Guildford, Esher and Redhill, and the villages around them. Island and remote addresses are surveyed by arrangement.

Is my Surrey home too exposed for cavity insulation?

Much of Surrey is in the more sheltered driving-rain zones, but exposed and coastal sites are still checked carefully. The survey records the exposure of each wall before recommending a material, or recommending against filling.

Do you cold-call in Surrey?

No. We only come out when you have asked us to. If someone cold-calls offering free insulation, check before you agree to anything.

Are there grants for insulation in Surrey?

In England, ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026 and Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households through councils. We cannot promise funding, but we will point you to the right official route.
