Borescope cavity inspection for York properties
If your property is in York or the YO1 district or nearby Selby and Harrogate, it is within our North Yorkshire coverage. York is one of the main towns we cover in North Yorkshire.
The written result for your York property is plain English: what we found, what it means and what, if anything, to do next. Where a York wall shows cold patches or damp, the survey targets those areas first rather than sampling at random.
Before any material is chosen, exposure is checked. North Yorkshire has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
On the rules side, if cavity wall insulation follows in York, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

When a borescope check helps
Before filling, to confirm the cavity is empty and clean. Before buying a house, to see if the EPC's claim of 'filled cavity' is true. When damp has appeared and you need to know whether the fill is wet or bridged. Before a top-up, to map which panels are empty.
