Borescope cavity inspection for Eltham properties
Our Greater London coverage takes in Eltham (SE9) and nearby Blackheath, Welling and Catford. It is about 9 miles south-east of London.
Buyers and sellers in Eltham often book this check when a survey report or EPC raises questions about the walls. Where an Eltham wall shows cold patches or damp, the survey targets those areas first rather than sampling at random.
Local weather affects which walls can be filled. Much of Greater London sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
On compliance, if cavity wall insulation follows in Eltham, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Rules in England
Filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification if insulation work follows.

When a borescope check helps
Before filling, to confirm the cavity is empty and clean. Before buying a house, to see if the EPC's claim of 'filled cavity' is true. When damp has appeared and you need to know whether the fill is wet or bridged. Before a top-up, to map which panels are empty.
